Hoping to build on Milan performance

Things are great under our new manager, Tony Adams. We were so unlucky not to beat AC Milan on Thursday and in general we´re playing really well.

We played Hull last time out. We played a very good game and scored twice. Unfortunately they came back from a goal down twice as well, the last time very late in the game – after about 89 minutes. Things like that happen in the game, we just need to forget about it and make sure it doesn´t happen again.

The team´s performance against Hull was very good as a whole but I´d have to single out Glen Johnson. He had a great game and the goal he scored was superb. It will be one of the goals of the season, I´m sure. Hull are a very difficult side to come up against because, as well as being strong, they are also very good technically. You can see they are very united as a team and it´s obvious that they enjoy playing together.

We play Blackburn today and I´m sure they will be a different test to last season as they have a new manager, Paul Ince. He was a defensive midfielder like me and he was someone I watched and admired when he was playing. He was a top player and I believe he will be a top manager too.

Since my last blog David James has pledged his future to the club which is great news for everyone at Portsmouth. Jamo is a fantastic keeper. He´s a great guy to have around the dressing room and in the last few seasons his form has been outstanding. It gives the rest of the team so much confidence knowing that we have a keeper like that behind us.
